Pat's career has taken her down many roads and venues. This page features some of those venues and will inform the viewer of many avenues they can take to enjoy western music and traditional country music.
Although often considered to be the same, western music and country music are two different styles. Western music is the song of the cowboy, his life, his land, and the animals who are a part of his life. That doesn't mean that cowboys don't have love songs....they most certainly do, and they also have songs of praise to their creator. Western or cowboy music also features the yodel. Performers of western music are known for their fancy costumes and authentic look of the early cowboy.
Country music, especially country music of the last half of the 20th century centers around human emotions involving love, life's struggles, emotions, having fun, lust, and an elongated view of what is supposed to be country living. Country songs are commonly heard on top 40 radio stations, whereas western music is a little harder to come by through airplay.
Pat performs both traditional country (not current top 40) and western music. She is also a writer of both traditional country and western music. Below you will find some of her mentors and peers in both country and western music and a little information on how to find these people and the organizations they represent.
